Wire Frame Images

Wireframe illustration is a hot technique for adding a technical style to your designs. It involves outlining the edges and details of an object to convey the actual 3D shape of that object.

Group and Ungroup Vector Objects

When you're working with several objects, it's often a good idea to group them when appropriate so that you can color them all at the same time, size them, or perform other operations. (Illustrator)

Apply Textures, Patterns and Masks

Texture mapping is a method for adding detail, surface texture, or colour to a computer-generated graphic or 3D model. Its application to 3D graphics was pioneered by Dr Edwin Catmull in his Ph.D. thesis of 1974.

Paint and Vector Tools

The most used tool in Photoshop, and most likely one of the simplest to date is the Paint Brush tool. Your paint brush tool can be found on your toolbar.

Work With Layers

What is a LAYER?
A layer is simply one image stacked on top of another. Imagine I have a piece of paper and I paint it red. Then I take a peice of clear celophaine and paint a yellow circle, and lay it over the paper. Now I take another peice of cellophane and paint some blue type and laythat on top of the yellow circle. I now have a background (red) and 2 layers (yellow and blue.)

Opening, Importing and Saving Graphics

Opening and importing is important, as it is the way that you can access images that you all ready have and edit them, any way you want. Using Photoshop you are able to save your work in multiple file types.

Create and Manipulate Vector Graphics

Vector images are made up of many individual, scalable objects. These objects are defined by mathematical equations rather than pixels, so they always render at the highest quality. Objects may consist of lines, curves, and shapes with editable attributes such as color, fill, and outline. Changing the attributes of a vector object does not effect the object itself. You can freely change any number of object attributes without destroying the basic object. An object can be modified not only by changing its attributes, but also by shaping and transforming it using nodes and control handles. For an example of manipulating an object's nodes, see my CorelDRAW tutorial on drawing a heart.

Create and Manipulate Bitmapped Images

Bitmap images (also known as raster images) are made up of pixels in a grid. Pixels are picture elements; tiny dots of individual color that make up what you see on your screen. All these tiny dots of color come together to form the images you see. Most computer monitors display approximately 70 to 100 pixels per inch--the actual number depends on your monitor and screen settings.

GRAPHICS SOFTWARE

In computer graphics, graphics software or image editing software is a program or collection of programs that enable a person to manipulate visual images on a computer.
Computer graphics can be classified into two distinct categories: raster graphics and vector graphics. Before learning about computer software that manipulates or displays these graphics types, you should be familiar with both.
